I'm super dyslexic, I fell in love with audiobooks and have listened to more than 1,500 of them. I had almost $80K worth of school loans but wanted to work for myself after graduation. So, I hired a team of 10 virtual assistants in the Philippines and coached them to find and apply to scholarships for me. I made a 3,540% return on my investment in 4 months and paid off most of my loans. As the final project for my Software Engineering class at Brown I worked with friends to build a suite of tools to automate much of this work for my team in the Philippines. • While I was at Make School, my 14 student cluster published more apps than any other cluster in the history of the school. Three apps per student instead of the usual one. Was assigned a team of engineers to run. Coordinated work using Jira and GitHub. Personally wrote NLP software in Python for category normalization. By the end of my internship, products found using the engine we built regularly sold out and increased our bottom line.

I originally built WeMap as a valentines day present for my girlfriend. It allows couples to build an interactive scrapbook/map of their favorite past date locations and to find new date locations. Enough people asked "How can I make a present like this for my significant other?" That I made WeMap user facing and released it to the app store. I built BoardBrake after a friend fell and got injured on my longboard. I developed 42 design iterations for it and 12 prototypes using 3D printing and casting. I recruited & led 2 engineers and 3 industrial designers from Stanford, MIT, RISD, and Brown to help me do it, interviewed 131 potential customers in Lean Startup Methodology, and won 2nd place at Stanford's Startup competition and 1st place at MIT's Startup Competition. During this process I learned jus how unnecessarily complicated filing a provisional patent can be.
