About

I am a designer-turned product engineer with a background in the health tech space. Though I am technology agnostic (user needs determine the stack required!), my tech toolkit includes React, Redux, Javascript, Ruby on Rails, SQL, JQuery, REST-ful APIs, Three.js, HTML, CSS, MongoDb, PostGres, and often, good old-fashioned pen and paper. I just launched full-stack single page web app and game with some teammates called Guess Who, Haiku, which leverages the markov-chain probabilistic model, open-source APIs, and the MERN app development stack (MongoDb, Express, React/Redux, and Node) to help players write haikus and challenge their friends to guess the origin. For this project, I'm proud to have worked the entire stack for this project: From designing the non-relational backend database structure and REST-ful API backend routes, seeding our database with external API endpoints, working on the semantic parsing algorithm to generate proper 5-7-5 format haikus, writing a test suite for these algorithms using Mocha, to flexing some front-end design muscles with React / Redux, Hooks and Styled Components.
