About
The Halstead Lab investigates the molecular and genetic mechanisms that drive successful embryonic development. My research bridges human and animal systems to uncover how totipotency is established and how early lineage decisions are regulated during preimplantation development. By integrating embryo models, stem cell systems, and multi-omics approaches, the lab aims to define conserved regulatory principles that underpin early developmental success. This work informs both reproductive medicine and agricultural biotechnology, advancing a cross-species understanding of what enables the successful generation of new life.
