About
Postdoctoral Fellow, Stanford University 2007 – Present Advisor: Dr. Gordon Li, MD • Currently performing hypothesis- and discovery-based translational research to examine the molecular processes of a novel oncogene isoform in brain tumor and non-small cell lung carcinomas, and to identify new drug therapeutics for these cancers • Identified small molecules that can inhibit the activity of a novel oncoprotein using a high through-put assay using Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer • Analyzed altered expression or activity of signaling pathways in a variety of tumor cell lines using both lentivirus and retrovirus to generate stable cell lines • Determined the significance of a novel oncogene in brain tumor and non-small cell lung carcinomas tumorigenesis by in vitro biochemical assays and in vivo mouse work • Collected and purified antibodies to monitor the expression of an oncogene using FACS analysis • Elucidated the mechanism of activation for a novel oncoprotein by creating numerous constructs for bacterial and mammalian expression • Independently wrote and was awarded the American Brain Tumor Research Fellowship Evidence Team Member, Caris MPI Molecular Profiling Institute 2
