Bryan Wang

About

Hello! My name is Bryan Wang, and I am a fourth-year computer science student at the University of Waterloo. My main area of interest and experience is in designing distributed systems and working on distributed databases. I previously interned at Huawei at the Distributed Data Storage and Management Research Lab, where I helped research new technologies for the LSM structure we used for our database design. But most of my work at Huawei was on the GaussDB team where I worked on introducing RDMA to our HTAP (Hybrid Transactional/Analytical Processing) database as well as working on our transition to Apache Parquet format. I also completed an internship at Huawei's Data Center Networking Team to gain some more experience working with RDMA and I gained a deeper understanding about the various algorithms that regulate a data center network.
