About

I build software from the ground up. Generative AI and large language models are interesting as they can unleash waves of new possibilities, though that should be done responsibly and fairly. I've been exploring generative ML by working on it professionally, contributing to open source, tinkering on my own projects, and talking to folks in the community. My background has been in building end-to-end production-grade machine learning systems and I'm excited to bring those skills to the generative ML. Designing these systems draws on the attention to detail I developed in my Caltech PhD as well as the design-focused thinking I learned in my engineering undergrad. I delight in analyzing data, solving problems ranging from hard to never-been-done-before, and creating real solutions to the unfolding set of challenges facing the world.
