How can technology help improve the human experience? As a PhD student in Computer Science, I've published work on giving robots a sense of touch, which can one day lead to robots that can help at home. More recently I'm researching the dynamics of illegal markets using online information. Understanding these dynamics lets nonprofits know where to set up outreach services. I'm happy to talk about the intersection of public good and AI / ML skills, how research directions are set and prioritized, and the ethics of robotics research in a globalized world.
