If you want to see what I'm doing now, just read this backwards:) I entered college as an economics major, and graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy. In the years immediately following, I pursued a career in songwriting while working jobs in sales, food service, and audiovisual tech. In 2019 I came to SF and went to Hack Reactor, then the leading software engineering bootcamp. My favorite part of that experience was the chance to help other students, so I became an associate instructor for the next cohort. I still love coaching and teaching whenever I can, just as much as I love learning. In my first job, I worked on a large service-oriented backend that powered a mobile CRM app serving thousands of salespersons. In my next job, I wrote API integrations and performance optimizations for a high-frequency trading program. In 2022 I got married (!) and I thought I'd take one last run at a creative career, so I left my role at the trading firm to make short films, one of which won an award at the Merced Queer Film Festival. After that, I considered getting a technical role in the animation industry (e.g. lighting artist), but I was put off by the lack of job security in that sector, and
