I am passionate about improving the safety of patient care, and incorporating way out of the box concepts to design medical devices and computerized education. I am an advanced practice nurse with 38 years of experience in a variety of roles including clinician, educator, manager, and trauma coordinator. I have a solid working knowledge of basic and advanced nursing concepts in both the civilian as well as military sectors, and my areas of expertise include trauma, critical care, telemetry, medical-surgical, emergency, and transitional care nursing. I served a total of 27 years (active duty and reserve) in the U. S. Navy, and am a retired Captain, U.S. Navy Nurse Corps.
