For over 15 years, my job was sitting across from someone who needed work and figuring out how to tell their story. I’ve done this 10,000 times as a career counselor, social worker, and the top-rated resume writer in NYC. I’ve worked with organizations whose missions were to connect people to living-wage opportunities, but the resumes their coaches were producing didn’t deliver. Coaches were overloaded, templates were generic, and the jobseekers who needed the most help were getting the least effective materials. Too often, capable people failed to get hired - or move beyond minimum wage - because their resumes didn’t represent what they could actually do. Seeing these challenges firsthand is what led me to create RS Works. It’s a career development platform that takes the methods I developed writing 10,000 resumes by hand and makes it available to organizations at scale. It covers resumes, interview coaching, and career matching, and it's designed specifically for the populations that workforce organizations, community colleges, training programs, and experiential learning providers serve.
