About
Javier is a Managing Director of Kennet Partners and leads its US investment activities. He is currently on the board of Revolution Prep, AcademixDirect, Kapow Technologies and IntelePeer. Former boards include NetPro Computing (acquired by Quest), Adviva (now Specific Media), MedeAnalytics and Daptiv. Prior to joining Kennet, he was a Managing Director of Broadview International and led their West Coast Software and Services practice. Javier specialized in helping founder/CEOs of high growth, early-stage companies to maximizing the value of their equity. He invested and/or advised on a number of successful companies and high value exits including Etek, Webex, Looksmart, Blue Mountain Arts, When.com and Rightworks. Previously, Javier was with Morgan Stanley in corporate finance. Earlier, he founded a software firm that developed products for capital markets interest rate and currency swap traders. He holds an MBA degree from The Harvard Business School and a BAS degree from Georgetown University. Javier is also on several non-profit boards: - Arbor Bay, a private Bay Area elementary and middle school for children with special needs. - Crystal Springs Upland School, a private Bay area middle and high school with a strong academic focus - The Palo Solo Project (www.palosoloproject.org), a registered 501-C social network for micro-giving, helping families and their children with health and education in less developed countries. Specialties: I have extensive experience in advising the CEOs and founder owners of high growth technology companies on building shareholder value through sales expansion, M&A and IPOs. I enjoy working with sharp founders and executives. I am an active investor participating as a board member helping with business development, sales expansion, M&A and capital market initiatives. A number of our investments involve internet advertising, education, data analytics solutions and recurring revenue models.
